The National Catholic Development Conference (NCDC) conferred the Robert F. Morneau and George T. Holloway Awards for Distinguished Service and the Good Samaritan Award at their annual conference on Saturday, September 30 in San Diego.
Enrique Morones received the Good Samaritan Award, which is given annually to someone who exemplifies extraordinary concern for others, especially those who are most in need. The award is not restricted to NCDC members or to any particular religious denomination. The criteria for the award include a life of service that is an outstanding example of following the Gospel message as manifested in the Parable of the Good Samaritan. The nominee’s service must have made a significant impact upon the lives of persons in need.
Mr. Morones is the Founder and Director of Border Angels, an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice with a special focus on issues related to issues related to the US-Mexican border.
Patricia Regan, CFRE received the Bishop Robert F. Morneau Award for Distinguished Service, which is given to an active or associate NCDC member who has actively supported and promoted the mission of the association in an extraordinary way. Ms. Regan has worked for Trinity Missions, the fundraising office of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity, a Catholic congregation of priests and brothers, since 1989. In those nearly 29 years, she has served in various capacities, starting off as a copywriter and editor and leading the office’s creative team for the direct mail program. She is currently the Executive Director of Development.
Dennis Meyer, CFRE and Bonnie O’Neill Meyer, CFRE, were co-recipients of the George T. Holloway Award for Distinguished Service, which honors a corporate partner, who has made an unusually significant contribution to the cause of religious and charitable fundraising through the National Catholic Development Conference.
Mr. and Ms. Meyer, President and Executive Vice President/Chief Creative Officer, respectively, of Meyer Partners (Chicago, IL), serve a diverse group of distinguished missions and ministries, and have been involved with NCDC for over 30 years.
